Meet Dr. Parr

Philip Parr, DPM, MS, is originally from Cherokee, OK. After graduating as valedictorian from Cherokee High School, he began his education at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK, obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. At Oklahoma State, Dr. Parr developed a strong interest in sports medicine, working closely with the athletic training department and the team physicians for OSU Athletics. He was named a Top Ten Senior in his college at OSU and subsequently matriculated into Oklahoma State University-Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa, OK where he achieved his Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences. He then attended the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, IL where he acquired his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine, serving as class president during his time in Chicago. Dr. Parr then completed an intensive 3-year Podiatric Medicine and Surgical Residency with an added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery at Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City, UT.

During his time in residency, Dr. Parr also completed additional dermatopathology training at Bako Labs in Alpharetta, GA.

Dr. Parr has been practicing in the Fort Worth area since 2015 and is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons

Dr. Parr also serves as an invited journal reviewer for the Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery: Techniques, Reports, & Cases. He has served various roles as a lecturer and lab instructor teaching other foot & ankle surgical techniques to other surgeons across the United States. He has performed thousands of surgical procedures during his career, but takes pride in keeping conservative treatment as his preferred treatment whenever possible. Dr. Parr believes that effective patient communication and patient education is a mainstay of any treatment option.

In his free time, he enjoys watching his daughters dance competitively and being an all-around girl dad. Sometimes he is able to talk his girls into watching college football with him, and you can also find him running along the Trinity River as he enjoys distance running and cycling.
